campgames  Clifton, new jersey, NJUSAThis game was the first game i ever owned. My father and i purchased our Sweet Hearts from a vendor in Newark NJ called R&Y Amusements back in 1969 when i was 14 yrs old for the price of 125.00. I totally restored this game including painting the cabinet and new reproduction backglass. My highest score game was 2856 points and 15 replays maxing credit wheel out. There is a pinball players trade secret to this game for making highest possible scores and highest replay totals. Here is the secret for those of you who don't know....when the ball goes through the left 6 card side out the player can hit the ball off the folded corner of the card tray just in front of the outhole bring the ball back up into the playfield. In doing so the player can continue the same ball in play allowing a player to increase their high score and replays wins. This kicking of the ball off the corner of the card tray takes timing and just the right bump to the machine without tilting the game. I have done this 2 or 3 times in a row in a single game. Basement gameroom location 2014. Record Book High Score:(5-02)2,856

drano  TorontoCanadaSweet Hearts has just undergone a complete overhaul with new cabinet paint and the playfield has been completely shopped, with many new parts. I've upgraded to yellow dot flipper coils and used the tightest fitting rubber rings I could. It now plays fast and mean. A great player all around.

gdlas  AptFrance
glowpix  SaltburnUnited KingdomFound in a reclamation business along with my Rink and Flying Scot, this one was the lucky one as it was protected from the weather (stored next to an entrance open to the weather!) by the other two. Not bad condition and very restorable, some mild playfield wear above the flippers, mainly just dirty with a lot of broken parts which would be replaced anyway. No legs yet again, nor playfield glass, but they are the least of my worries! Some fading of the reds as usual to the cards on the backbox, but other reds on there are ok, oddly...As you can see, it has been completely painted over in the wrong colours, probably an operator's house style, and they have gone to some lengths to get it done well - must have dismantled the whole machine to do it. Cab now has been completely stripped and repainted in original design, playfield partly restored, new plastics printed from scanned and digitally restored old ones to be applied to acrylic sheet. All new parts required now obtained and restoration picked up again.

jokerpoker  NowraAustraliaI was looking for any pinball from 1963 as I thought it would be cool to have a machine manufactured in the same year as me! I really fluked this one as it was literally wrapped in a blanket for 25 years.I am the 4th owner. Cabinet is almost perfect. I have just sourced a new back-glass for it from Shay to bring it back to almost perfect for a true original machine. Playfield has no wear, still has the original Leisure and Allied Industries embossed playfield glass (Australia only). A real Gem. One I am very proud to have in my collection and ultra reliable. It really is a Sweet Heart! Looks better than I do! Sadly sold to make way for ? My most regretted sale as they just don't come along at all. Damn I wish I could find the guys number, I'd buy it back in a heartbeat.

rvalkenburg Cinnaminson, NJUSAStill in the process of restoration. Probably one of the dirtiest games I have picked up and many playfield parts were replaced with the incorrect piece. The backglass is in rough shape but found an original in much better shape off of eBay. Game plays well and 1/2 way through restoration.

twindavid  Newark, DEUSAFound this Jewel in a local classifieds. The cabinet was great but the play-field was trashed. I had had a poor example of this game years ago, but didn't want to restore it. This game has great clean mechanicals, so that was a big influence. It took 3 months of hard work to touch up the play-field, I clear coated it and it turned out great. Replaced the back-glass with a new Gottlieb licensed glass. Its a great player and one of my favorites to play. Another Death row inmate! Away with ya!!
