| Data East (USA) | Sold | | wicked dudes. who won't enjoy the task of getting a Delorean up to 88mph and then going back in time to meet their own mother and father? fab soundtrack too. you don't see these about too often so i grabbed this when i had the chance. as themes go this is one of the coolest out there, which is why you don't see too many of these on the market. check out the horrendous images of Michael J Fox after he wouldn't allow his pic to go on the machine - apparently that's the son of one of the designers. Christopher LLoyd had no problem selling his image rights for this (also as Fester on TAF) and is memorable in this film from a pinhead perspective for the memorable line where he says he sold a fake bomb to some terrorists, that was really a bunch of old pinball machine parts :). , There's even a fun flyer for this game which has Gary Stern on it as Doc Brown. | Stern (USA) | Sold | | Great fun little game this, and it's a Steve Ritchie so it's all good. nice easy rules to this game - play all 5 'featured hits'(modes), collect all 5 'gifts' (drop targets and a saucer for each one), and get the top 10 'countdown' (shoot some blue shots) then you are in Graceland. along the way, the video mode was like the first ever dance game, Elvis the Pelvis himself swings his hips and raises his microphone to sing in time, and there's even a magnet for the SR signature cross-playfield shot, just like on Rollergames. Uh huh huh. this one is currently out on loan at a friend's house, a famous friend who's been on TV and everything. i expect he wants to buy it off me eventually, but make me an offer i can't refuse, and he can go piss up a rope. This game was on site in London at The Pipeline for 18 months but is now home and being enjoyed again. I said i'd never sell this when i bought it 4 years ago, but i found an even better example that obviously cost even more money .... but since this is a keeper of a game, i thought it was worth the upgrade. my MB will be one of the last to ever leave my collection if i ever thin the herd, as it's just such bloody good fun. decent playfield but the cab is a bit tatty, with wear around the legs, and a couple of chips out of the bottom of the backbox. all working though, plays with no errors and no problems with inserts or boards or any of that stuff. i made a video and put it up on youtube, but i can't include it here or it gets auto-deleted. find it on youtube using this search string: LItIXa0JZu8. it's also listed elsewhere and is not expected to be around for too long, as these games don't come up too often! | Williams (USA) | Sold | | pics from previous owner but i'll put some up soon. i'd been after one of these for ages, so i didn't hesitate when one popped up for sale. it wasn't in perfect condition but i'm working on it - have stripped it down and given it a good clean, fitted a trough sleeve, remote battery holder, installed a new wheel decal and backboard decal, LEDs in the gofer spotlights, repaired the slam ramp and fitted felt under all the noisy moving parts. this is just good old fun - play golf by shooting 'drive' shots before going for the green, or just lock balls by raping the ramps and slapping Bud and Buzz for multiball fun. the slam ramp is a brilliant invention, sending the ball up to an area above the playfield with a golf cart and a chimney-like superb hole-in-one shot that never fails to satisfy. what do i like about it? well, it's colourful, it's noisy, it has humour and variety (lots of modes, three different multiballs), it has a wheel that you can control that directs what mode/award/feature comes up when you putt out to finish a hole .... i love the whole upper-upper playfield (the 'driving range') with it's inspired hole-in-one shot that is unlike anything else in pinball and is claimed by many to be pinball's greatest shot....and i love the fact that the scoring is exponential, in that shots become worth more the longer you build them up in the game. fun dot matrix animations, groovy entertaining music, and two sarcastic gofers that pop up to ridicule you in the game. all this and it's also a mid 90's Bally/Williams. what's not to like? this one is going nowhere. |
